Different Types Of Outdoor String Lighting

If you love to entertain guests on your patio or in your backyard, then you will want to decorate your backyard with outdoor lighting.

And using patio string lighting is a perfect way to decorate and light up the area so your guests will enjoy themselves. It could be a simple barbecue or a lavish party, outdoor string lights can be just the thing you need.

There are many different types of outdoor string lighting to choose from when you are ready to decorate. There are solar string lights, “commercial” string lights and novelty (or theme) string lights.

Commercial string lights are those lights that you see strung outside places of business. Bars and restaurants are the businesses that typically use these types of outdoor lights. These lights can be used in your backyard but will require a bit of planning to install them. They are heavier than other outdoor string lighting so you will need to string them from poles or trees and you will want to keep them high enough to stay out of your guests way. This type of lighting is the brightest of all the string lights so it is usually used to illuminate areas that are darker than others, thereby mitigating a safety risk.

Theme-based string lights are employed to coincide with the theme of the party you are having. An Easter party might call for you to employ string lighting shaped like bunnies. Other parties may have a color theme and the string lights can be bought to blend in with the color scheme. And no theme would be complete without including a sports type of string light. Throwing a Super Bowl party because your favorite team is playing? Or perhaps your favorite baseball team has made it to the World Series. Outdoor string lights come in such a variety that pretty much any team can adorn the lighting and flesh out the décor for your party.

If you are looking to save money on electricity, then solar string lights are the way to go. The solar lights will allow you to string up the lights anywhere in the yard you want without having to worry about running power from the house to the lights. As long as the lights receive at least 8 hours of sun during the day, they will work just fine for you and save you money while doing it.

There are many different types of outdoor string lights to choose from in each of these three groups. Most online resources will have a wide selection to choose from. With your options so varied, there is no reason not to have the right string lights for your next party.
